The CS3 is a stand alone tower lighting monitoring unit that can be combined with your alarm system to keep you informed about problems at your tower. The unit uses remote sensors to monitor existing lighting systems. It can monitor 2 beacons and up to 9 side light fixtures. The alarm outputs are in the standard form C dry contact configuration. The CS3 can give your lighting controller most of the standard features available on all Xcel's Tower Light controllers.
Each of the two beacons have two alarm outputs; beacon X bulb 1 & beacon X bulb 2. This allows you to determine whether only one bulb or both bulbs are burnt out in that beacon fixture. The side lighting alarm alerts you to a side light burn out no matter how many you have (up to 9). A flasher failure alarm monitors beacons for the proper flash rate. If one or both beacons stick on, the CS3 will alert you. Photocell triggering can be done in several ways to maintain alarm status override during the day. The CS3 can be the photocell drive for the older controller. This would give you the level of precision that is designed into all of Xcel's Tower Light controllers.. The unit can also be a slave of the existing photocell, with either direct or indirect voltage triggering. The exact method you use will depend on your particular situation. The CS3 will also trigger a power alarm if the unit loses power itself.
